Is there any reason not to use the username “me” on a personal machine?

0

For years now, on my personal laptops, I've always named myself me. These are all machines that only I will use regularly. If, for some reason, I give someone else an account, I figure I'd give them a more unique name.

So far, I've had no issue. But I've always had the thought "Hmm, no one else does this. Is there a reason?" Are there potential problems this could cause? Maybe programs/protocols (like IRC) that use my local username as part of a more global identifier?

If there's no issue when it's just me doing this, what if everyone did? Maybe then there could be issues?
