How can I print text files (or PCL) to my HP printer?

0

I can print PDF files to my HP printer which is using an HP ppd file, but it does not work if I send text files to it.

I need to print a lot of envelopes doing a mail merge (in Vim) so the problem is how to format them correctly. Is there a way I can maybe generate a PCL file via Vim with the right orientation and margins so the envelopes come out correctly?

As an aside, how can print plain text files?
