Help! My taskbar and notification bars have disappeared on my desktop

I'm using Parrot OS with the Mate DE. I can access the terminal, right click (can do things like create folders, docs, and change desktop background through this) but that's it. I can't launch any programs that aren't pinned to my desktop and because of this my computer is basically unuseable.
