Why is grub2 showing up when I try to boot my Linux box?

0

Today I installed Ubuntu 12.04 alongside my Ubuntu 16.04 that I was already running. I booted with a USB that had an iso flashed on it. Everything worked fine and it allowed me to run 12.04, great. Well the only reason I used 12.04 was because I happened to have the USB near by. So I decided I would delete it by deleting the partitions using fdisk utility. The 16.04 version was on a separate SSD so I know I was deleting the right version of Ubuntu. In all I ended up deleting 3 partitions. It seemed to work so I went ahead and restarted my computer and instead of just loading up Ubuntu 16.04 like I thought it would it sent me to a command prompt called Grub.

Whoops! I figured I would just try booting up the 12.04 again and see if that fixed things. It allowed me to install Ubuntu 12.04 and once again it asked me if I would like to install it alongside my Ubuntu 16.04. I said yes, and let it install. Then when I restarted the computer after the installation was complete it sent me back to that command prompt utility Grub again.

I looked up what Grub was on my windows box but tbh I am not sure what to do here. I feel like it shouldn't be loading up Grub at all right?
