Java program on a linux server

0

I am running a Java program with below command.

java -jar links.war --spring.config.location=application.properties

The process is started and it shows

Tomcat started on port(s): 8888 (http)

When I check netstat, I get below result

netstat -nlp | grep 8888
tcp6 0 0 :::8888 :::* LISTEN 4353/java

If I try to telnet in windows it says

Could not open connection to the host, on port 8888: Connect failed

I am very much new to this application. I was able to run the same in windows using command prompt. I wanted to run this war on a linux server and connect it from there.
