gst123 - select alsa device for playback with external USB soundcard
I'm truing to get my audio played back by an external USB device, using the GStreamer based command line media player gst123 which comes with the option:
-a, --audio-output=<driver>[=<dev>] Set audio output driver and device
so I'm truing to get the alsa device name of my usb soundcard with aplay -l:
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: CX20582 Analog [CX20582 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 1: S6USB20 [Saffire 6USB2.0], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
while the last entry is the device I want to select as output device I try with the following command:
gst123 -a alsa S6USB20 Musik/*.mp3
none of the above commands work. The playback is always started with the default onboard Intel card. What am I missing out?
