using script to change desktop folder location
I am using these commands to switch desktop folder just like kde activities
/bin/rm -f ~/Desktop
sudo ln -s ~/Documents ~/Desktop
Above creates a symlink connecting the desktop to Documents folder and whatever you want. I still have to refresh desktop manually to complete the process.
I have tried "xdotool key ctrl+r" and it does not work on ubuntu 18.04.
Any help to enable ubuntu dekstop auto-refresh on symlink change? Following links may be useful for answering.
Can I have different desktop directories on different workspaces on Gnome?
